Photosynth rising

photosynthThis just in: Microsoft Photosynth is finally out of beta and has gone public. It’s something which has loads of potential and is pretty exciting. It’s also something which words can’t do justice for. Just try it out for yourself if you have a lot of images to organize or navigate visually.

Wow. Photosynth has improved so much. Immediately I wonder ‘what if Flickr could allow its users to implement this technology in conjunction with geotagging?’ Beyond that I can easily see this as a massive archive. And it begs the question about Time and how they will deal with photos as newer ones layer over top of them. What about video? This might be one of the best ways to represent the life of a building over several generations.
