Samsung made it official just this past April; The 10.1” Galaxy Tab 2 was coming. Since then here hasn’t been much info to sink our teeth into and even a few rumours that productions plans may be delayed to make way for a new hardware revision but that appears to not be the case. The tablet is indeed coming out soon as originally planned. Sooner than we thought, in fact.
While plans haven’t fully solidified yet and not all the details are in, we can expect the device’s Canadian launch on June 22nd. Expect Future Shop to start taking preorders for the unit around early June.
Of course the original Galaxy Tab is already available in Canada and already a fairly nice tablet choice so this new version bumps up the specs as you might expect. Notably the software is now a skinned Android 4.0 operating system, trumping the previous Android 3.2 installment.
Like the original Galaxy Tab, we’re still running a 1GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM though we’re now treated to an upgrade from the Nvidia Tegra 2 to a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor.
the base model sports 16GB internal memory with 11.5 of it being accessible for use. It had a 3 megapixel rear facing camera, an LEd flash, and VGA front facing camera. We’ve also still got the usual ports a microSD reader, Bluetooth 3.0, accelerometers, a gyroscope, wifi n, and all the usual bells and whistles we’ve come to expect.
Overall it looks like a welcome upgrade to the existing Galaxy Tab lineup The software upgrade alone is going to make a big difference, letting us take advantage of google’s latest revision to the Android operating system with Ice Cream Sandwich. Hopefully we get more details soon about the availability of this new gadget.
Very pleased by meeting up with Samsung Galaxy tab 2. All the features of its are really sound outstanding and one of the most significant invention of our modern technology. Thanks for letting me know about this product of Samsung.
