The City of Toronto’s Festival of Architecture and Design (A.K.A: F.A.D. …no joke!) got underway this week with little or no fanfare. The hype machine seems to have fallen asleep on this one as promotion is sorely lacking. It will run until June but you’ll have to take some initiative to discover all about it since apparently they couldn’t even bother to run quality control on the website....

Sigmund Freud used to draw. This is unknown to most. He drew what he saw happening in his microscope as he studied the science of brains. The New York Academy of Medicine is arranging an exhibition of Freud’s early illustration work showing a rarely seen side of the man and his processes.

Doreen Carvajal has a peice in the New York Times regarding that new trend of advertising on animals. Apparently the folks doing it have been fined by the town of Skarsterlan for violating ad-creep policy. The work seemed to be more of a publicity move than anything else. Yes, we are aware that this post makes us complicit in the publicity scheme. Advertising a hotel on sheep in the countryside seems like a flawed...
