Ask people what they make and most wouldn’t know but show them a Flip Video camera and they’re instantly interested. Its quite a nice lineup of products they’ve got with a very focused direction; simplicity in photography. The Flip Video series has been tremendously well received by bloggers and social media aficionados but yet the brand, in Canada at least, is relatively unknown.With a value price point and a solid product you would think the original Flip Video cameras would be tremendously popular but soon after their release in Canada they started to show their age in as much as they did not support high definition. By that point it was fast becoming a necessity. The cameras promoted their Easy-To-YouTube abilities so then once YouTube began to support HD footage, the lack of HD in the Flip cameras became the elephant in the room. continue…

He’s not known for being politically correct or mainstream and doesn’t tend to make a secret of his opinions. His cander and wit have propelled him into our hearts as he picked on food television and the restaraunt industry, cutting it down to size and teaching it some humility. For a change he’s tackled children’s television now. The results are pretty good, even comparing the Backyardigans to Grand Theft Auto. Way to branch out Tony.

There is a new one worth checking out for all you information visualization fans called Britain from Above. It’s basically all about visualizing geographic information from an overhead (orbital style) view, revealing traffic patterns and other trends layered over Great Britain.

In 1982 were you wondering about HBO’s new intro video with the model city? Check out this documentary about it. Evidently its the most accurate model city ever built, if you believe the narrator. Like the song says, pay close attention to the details. Theres, according to the narrator, a working light bulb in every room of every building. It even has a cyclorama.
