You don’t have to be aquaman to unlock the secrets of whale-kind. Toronto based and aptly named WhalePower (despite there being few whales actually in or even around Toronto) have done it already and proved it to be true. Using some biomimetic teeth on the edge of fan blades, called Tubercle Technology, they’ve created a system thats quieter and more efficient than the traditional smooth kind. Take that...

Yesterday afternoon in Toronto there was a bit of an incident. Normally when you play bike versus car, the bike is the underdog but yesterday the bike won! Long story short; some motorist tried to make an illegal maneuver almost injuring a cyclist. The Cyclist, rather than shrug it off, decided not to let the motorist get away with that move. Alright, you all know the deal with winter in Toronto; it is cold. The dark and chilly months ahead can drive you into hibernation which inevitably means you’ll be coming down with a bad case of cabin fever. Let’s not fool ourselves though – the cold is no excuse to shut down all outdoor activities. It isn’t that cold outside. Is it? (Don’t answer that)

If you’re in Toronto today be sure to check out the opening of the Royal Ontario Museum’s new extension by Daniel Libeskind. The crystal-themed addition adds a new architectural landmark to the city and will be open this following week to the public before exhibits are added so you can check it out in it’s empty state and wonder how someone could curate such spaces. Theres going to be a big opening...
