Angela over at Make has hacked together an etch-a-sketch which automatically draws the time. This opens all kinds of doors for etch-a-visualization. It even erases itself every minute! The Setting is Nathan Phillips Square. The time is three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the twelfth of May. The weapons of choice are pillows. The expected outcome? John Kricfalusi has a pretty good write-up about the death of form and relates it specifically to children’s toys. He compares toys from the 1960s to some contemporary examples. This direct comparison lets him draw conclusions about the nature and development of the forms and the intent to which they have been subject from conception through implementation. He could have elaborated quite a bit more...
